The Solent FTZ is a £28.75m programme awarded by the Department for Transport (DfT), which includes a range of innovative test and trial projects to be delivered across the Solent area. All projects are required to be delivered by June 2024.
The Solent is one of only 4 regions across the country awarded the FTZ Programme by the DfT and represents an excellent opportunity to shape the transport future for the region and through shared lessons learnt to influence future transport policy for the UK.
We are looking for an innovative, highly motivated, proactive and organised individual to take on the role of FTZ Project Manager within Southampton City Council’s Transport team. The role will be to act as an embedded Project Manager for Portsmouth City Council (PCC), focusing on supporting the delivery of all projects within the PCC region that are included as approved projects within the wider FTZ Programme. The role will involve working closely with relevant PCC Officers and the wider FTZ delivery team.
You will have experience of working on ground breaking sustainable transport and innovative sustainable transport and behavioural change schemes. This could include delivery of complex public transport, freight logistics, active travel, cycle schemes / services and/or digital ticketing and behavioural change programmes in sustainable travel context.
You will be a qualified project professional (ideally APM, PRINCE2 or other relevant professional qualification) and/or have significant experience of successfully delivering projects throughout the project lifecycle. You will be experienced in defining scope, products and deliverables, including appropriate resourcing, and ensuring these are delivered to agreed time, cost, quality and compliance objectives.
It is essential for you to be flexible, be able to work under pressure and work collaboratively with partners and suppliers.
